Kyle Kaminski is a fantastic teacher! I observed Kyle's 3A speaking class today, Monday July 6th. Before this class, I believed I wanted to teach a speaking class, and this observation only strengthened my opinion. The class began with a "bellringer", which is just a simple question Kyle has students answer in groups for five minutes. Today the question was "Do you want a job that lets you dress casual or professional?". I talked with two other students, they both liked casual dress, while I like professional dress. After the "bellringer" the students had a short beautiful mistake quiz on errors made in the previous class. The main portion of the class was about presenting. Kyle had students get into groups of three again and work on small portions of textbook material based on presentations. After the students read, the groups had to present what they learned to the rest of the class. Overall, the class was amazing, every student participated multiple times, and nobody seemed hesitant to respond to the teacher. I believe this to be true because of how Kyle conducted himself. He was very laid back and silly. I even noticed he sat down in the front of the class and worked at the same desk as the front row students. I believe students feel very comfortable around him and are not afraid of messing up in front of him.
