Joel CP#4

For my fourth conversation partner meeting, I met up with Boram and Bruce at the Starbucks in the Strozier Library. We talked about different American and Korean holidays and which aspects were similar or different. Both America and Korea celebrate the New Year, although Korea celebrates it at a different time than America, and Christmas. And while America has Thanksgiving, Korea seems to have a similar holiday called 추석 (Chuseok). Korea also celebrates Valentine’s Day, but in Korea, the girl gives the guy something on Valentine’s Day, and then they have White Day where the guy has to do something for the girl. Another big holiday in Korea is March 1st, which is the Independence Movement Day, similar to our Fourth of July. They also have Children’s Day as opposed to America which has Mother and Father’s Day.
