Bruce TS #14 David

TS #14 David

In this session David and I focused on getting through questions in his workbook. He was more inattentive than usual today because we shifted from the fun flashcards to the workbook. I would ask him to read out the paragraph, using his pencil to trace the words as he reads them aloud. I think the biggest thing that helped in getting him to be more attentive was reminding him to sit up straight whenever he started to slouch. There has been a lot of research done in the mind/body connection of posture; it helped put him in a more focused state of mind rather than a relaxed one. He had difficulty comprehending some things about the stories we read, and whenever that happened I had him read it again. During the last ten minutes of session, we did the flashcard game again, and he seemed to really like that.
