Matthew and I once again met at the Leroy Collins Leon County public library to tutor. Today, his mother asked me to tutor Matthew for two hours, splitting our time between two types of tutoring, which allowed me to focus on one aspect at a time much better than I would have been able to during a normal one-hour tutoring session. I decided to focus on reading for the first hour of tutoring. I asked Matthew a few comprehension questions from the book that I asked him to read, which was about the Apollo 13 space mission. He seemed to enjoy the book immensely, asking to read more about space and planets. Since we were focusing on reading, I obliged his request, but I brought him a harder book to read. He seemed to have a little bit of trouble with specific words dealing with space and spaceships, and I wrote them down as we continued reading together. We then went over the different words that Matthew did not know, I defined them for him and used an example sentence so he understood the meaning.
