Kamesh TS #6
I met Matthew again on the 31st of July for our sixth tutoring session. I started the lesson by explaining to Matthew different types of essays. I then talked with him about an essay form in particular, compare/contrast essays. I asked him what is something he thinks he could write about in a compare and contrast essay, and Matthew landed on why one Pokemon in particular is better than the other. I gave him a sheet to outline his essay, with space for supporting details in each of the body sections. He finished the outline and used the supporting topics as the facts that the former Pokemon is cooler looking, has better moves, and has a better ability. After we finished the outline, I helped him write his introductory paragraph. As he is still a lower intermediate learner, I decided it was best that he only wrote up to 6 sentences in the introduction in order to focus on him learning different essay formats.
