Kamesh TS #5
I met Matthew on a Saturday morning following our last tutoring session. As soon as I entered the public library, I realized that Matthew was adamant about not learning English on a weekend. Seeing as I had my hands full, I promised him that we would do a fun activity if he behaved himself. We did a few reading comprehension exercises from his book, and a particular exercise that I knew he would enjoy. I made Matthew think of a character that he would like to write about. We spent time talking about the character and what he was like, what he thought, etc. After he made his character, I gave him 5 minutes so that he can draw the character. This was a backfire in hindsight because he turned his character into a ninja. Nevertheless, I made him write a short passage about an adventure that his character went on. After he finished writing the essay, I read it over and showed him what grammatical mistakes he made and how to fix them next time.
