Kamesh TS #9
I met Matthew again on August 4th at the public library once again. I focused on writing and listening this tutoring session. I first had Matthew take out the outline that we had worked on together a few sessions before. I helped him write the body paragraphs of the compare/contrast essay that we had previously worked on. He wrote about how one Pokemon was better than the other and focused his body paragraphs on how the former was cooler looking, had better moves, and a better ability. Matthew would write his essay while I watched over him, helping him grammatically. I started to notice some bad habits that he had while writing. The most pressing was the fact that he would barely erase a word when he would spell it incorrectly and he would write very large and fast. I told him to slow down his writing a bit, as just because he takes up more space doesn't mean it makes his exercise easier. He ended up focusing at the end when we did a short listening lesson about what doesn't belong in a set of phrases.
