When I was young there used to be a doll called "Chatty Kathy" because when you pulled a
string the doll would talk all the time.
That was my session with Zoe today- she was truly a "Chatty Kathy".
Maybe because it was first thing in the morning, we met at 9:00am, she was non-stop
energy, jumping from topic to topic, stopping every once in awhile with a
serious face and saying "actually this is what I think or like." She dashed out of the room to grab one of her
sister's mystery books to explain the author and characters to me.
We read an
easy Dr. Seuss book but each page lead to a full stream of talking about colors
or moods or her best friends and teachers. The hour just flew by as we bounced
around on various topics.
She did slow down long enough to do a puzzle work sheet
about Florida but even that lead to more discussion about shells, the
Everglades ( which she had visited) and Disney World which she knew was in
Orlando.
