I had my second tutoring session with Dojun on the morning of August 7th. We talked about his listening problems; Dojun said he had a hard time listening to American speech because of how fast they talk. In order to combat this, I sent him links to a website that gives the dialogue, quiz questions, and the script for a certain situation. The first situation that I presented him was a dialogue between two roommates meeting each other for the first time in a college dorm. I felt like this was appropriate because of the cultural situation. He had a hard time listening to the dialogue at first, he had to listen to it a few times before he was able to answer all of the questions. After that I went over some reading comprehension exercises with him. I had him read aloud to me before answering comprehension questions, and saw that he was a good reader albeit for some vocabulary specific to the passage about art thieves, such as heist and robber.
