Kamesh CO #3
My third and final classroom observation was with Kyle Kaminski, which was a listening class. Kyle started the class by asking what the students found hard about their final exam. He listened intently and slowed his speech so that his students were able to understand. Afterwards, as this was those students last day of class, he played a movie that had to do with his old major, biological science. The movie was called Guns, Germs, and Steel and dealt with how those things influenced wars. The vocabulary and listening level seemed like it was too much for the students, but Kyle would stop the movie at different intervals in order to make sure the students were comprehending what they were listening to. To my surprise, many of the students understood everything they heard (or at least the idea) and were able to come up with intriguing questions for Kyle. Kyle finished the class by asking a few comprehension questions from the movie, which the students answered perfectly.
