Kamesh CO #1

My first class observation was with Marilyn Sohan's speaking class on July 16th. I entered and talked to Marilyn, who let me know that they were going over both personal informations and different bounds of time, such as always, sometimes, never, etc. I travelled to the computer lab downstairs with the class and watched as the students would recite their personal information by heard into a microphone. I noticed this was an effective activity to practice speaking, but the students were struggling with remembering some of the information they were supposed to know. We then went back upstairs, and Marilyn went over exercises that the students had done beforehand and fixed the grammatical mistakes that they made. The students were tasked with fixing their own mistakes that Marilyn displayed in the board.  I feel like the students were not as focused on the second activity, as it did not appeal to them, which made teaching harder for Marilyn.
