Topic based on
the conversation (error correction at the last of class)
For the second time, Jaclyn choose various topics for
the ESL or non native speakers. She chooses one topic of the list and we talked
about PC room culture in South Korea and she was using her laptop when I speak
English. She explained fluency is more important than accuracy like our text
book says. To build fluency, she did not correct my errors during the
conversation. After finishing the conversation, she showed my errors. It was a
great approach to teach errors at the end of the class so that I could review
my errors once again and She also explained the correct form. I usually made
mistakes such as awkward word choices, and articles. She was also speaking
correct form by giving example sentences. We talked about the cultural difference
and commonalities as well. During the free talking, she did write down all the
errors, and explained the reason. She clearly teaches English with many examples
and uses various materials.
