On July 3, was my first tutoring session with Luiz Fernando.
He is from Brazil. We had the session via Skype, so I had to adjust my lesson
plans to this format. It made it a little more difficult, but it ended up
working out just fine. I e-mailed him the
worksheet we used before our session, so he would have his own copy to work
with. Since this was our fist session, I used this time to gage his English
level. He has had some English education in class, but has not had the
opportunity to practice with native speakers. He can hold basic conversation,
and he understood most of what I said if I spoke slowly, he but lacks fluency.
I gave him a few grammar worksheets to see which tenses he is familiar with, so
I knew what to work on in the future.
