Marco and I met again today in the student lounge.  He had previously told me he was wanting to go to France to teach and was wanting to pick my brain about my experience with French cuisine.  I brought him one of my favorite books on the subject, Culinaria France, which reviews every regions different cultures, wine and cuisine.  With food and wine being such a huge part of the French culture I thought that having this basic knowledge would help him to assimilate.
