Jennifer invited Joel to observe and participate in our last session with the Oh girls
and his presence added a delightful new mix to the
group. When I arrived he was already
entertaining the girls with a story on the white board using all sorts of fun
topics mixed together- turtles, ghosts and Jennifer. We switched gears and began our final game of
State Scrambles. I had warned the girls to pay particular attention to the state
nicknames because I had a puzzle test at the end of the hour. Joel fit right in, picked up the game quickly
and began sharing state nicknames and capitals with the girls.
As promised, the crossword puzzle quiz was a fun test of
memory for all of us. Zoe and Joel won but not before consulting the map on the
wall several times for hints and help.
Our final moments were spend with Zoe giving a presentation
of her trips around the United States.
This is a well traveled young lady.
Rina was her wonderful assistance showing us the State Park Junior Rangers badges for each visit. Zoe does
not lack confidence in public speaking and her enthusiasm was infectious. A bittersweet good bye to a delightful family
and a great learning experience.
