Dylan TS#11

Sunday, July 19th I tutored Andy, the five year old boy, for the third time. For the first time I kept Andy's attention the entire session. I brought a deck of cards and played go fish with him while I incorporated new vocabulary and corrected his grammar and pronunciation. Before this session I had brought activities and worksheets that seemed to only keep Andy's attention for short periods of time. Today, I tried the new approach of playing a fun game while giving him vocabulary words. Andy really seemed to pick up the new words well as he played the card game. He was also very well behaved, which was a new experience I had with him. I have to mention at the end of the session his father and I talked, which made Andy act out for attention. He threw my deck of cards everywhere and I ended up losing two of them. I will take the loss of two cards if it means a good tutor session with Andy any day of the week.
