Last lesson, Yuma said that he enjoyed just being able to
speak, and felt like he could improve more by just being able to have a
conversation and work on some grammar and vocabulary along the way. I agreed,
because based on the last few lessons it seems as if his listening and speaking
could use more help than everything else, which is to be expected. So today we
continued just talking about random subjects. This also helped to ensure that he
was capable of discussing a wide variety of different topics. We talked about
everything from food, to pollution, to what he did on the Fourth of July. As I
did last time, I wrote down words that he didn’t understand as we came across
them and made sure he understood them and could use them, and then checked to
make sure he remembered at the end of the lesson. He seems to be making progress
as I have noticed that he has a bit less trouble understanding me than when we
first started, which, of course, I am glad to see.
