For my second class observation, I attended Kyle Kaminski’s
3A speaking class. He started off talking to the students about doing research
for a speech that they would have to give on a controversial issue in their
country. He also mentioned writing down words that they didn't know in a little notebook. Some of the students had already prepared their idea so he gave those
as some examples for the other students think about. After that we went down to
the computer lab and he had the students read off of a list of words and record
them so that he could check their pronunciation. After that, the students just
used the computers to looks up topics for their speech or do research if they had
already found their topics.
