Pam TS #7 Child

Zoe and Rina were excited to talk about the new Minions Movie they saw over the weekend.  In a very detailed plot summary, I now understand that Scarlet tries to steal the crown from the Queen of England and the Minions are persuaded to assist.  Not sure what the outcome is but Zoe assures me it was a very 'cute' movie.   I asked Zoe to help me correct Rina's grammar from time to time-  verb agreements "she are"  or is it "she is" and why we need an 's' at the end of a word.

I brought all sorts of tourists brochures from work to our session so we waded through St. Augustine, the Turtle rehabilitation hospital in the Florida Keys and even the Arches in Utah which they proudly explained they had visited on a trip.

Jennifer joined us for a game of Scrambled States and somehow I ended up working more with Rina to make sure she knew where each state was on the map and learned to pronounce the state clearly.  During our last session, Zoe is going to give me a presentation of her travels around the United States.  I also have a work sheet on the state's nicknames so we will see how much of the game was fun? and if they will remember the Pine Tree State from the Palmetto State and where the Lone Star State is?

  1. Pam, so awesome you were able to coax the summary out of them! Aside from Astin, I have a hard time getting my tutees to explain something in detail. They're usually more comfortable answering my questions or responding to what I say, but when they're prompted to speak alone for a little, they shy from the activity.
