This is my last tutoring session with my children. My two
little Korean girls. They seem like little sisters to me, and since I’ve always
wanted a sister, this was a very pleasurable experience and opportunity to me. They
brought me the sweetest “thank you” card which had a cute drawing of us all.
Alongside with it was one Reese's Piece candy which Hye-Jeong forced me to eat.
I wanted to save it for later but she impatiently unwrapped it and pushed it
into my mouth. Their mother also gifted me with a Star Bucks gift card and
authentic Jeju Island orange filled chocolates which are the absolute best. I was
very thankful and appreciative. We read more “Inside Out” books to the end, as
well as some books from the “Magic Treehouse” saga. Hye-In is very gifted in
that she can pronounce 90% of the words without a problem. Hye-Jeong on the
other hand I feel is gifted, but is also shy. I decided to encourage her and
help her with her reading, which she appreciated. At the end I wanted to end
our lesson on a more fun note, so we played “Heads Up!” This is a game on my
iPad that is similar to Charades and Catch Phrase, but in that it swaps the
roles. One person holds the word to their head and the audience has to act it
out or describe it so the word holder guesses it and gets the point. I took a
lasting picture with them and we said our goodbyes. I hope to meet them again
one day.
