At 9AM this morning, I observed Mr. Pollock's speaking class while the students worked on their posters for Ramin's cultural workshop. This was interesting because conversation was facilitated by the students themselves with little to no help (necessary) from the professor. Additionally, some American TEFL students were there to correct any pronunciation mistakes or structure errors.
Something I noticed about this activity was that the students often ask if what they're saying it correct, or if they're spelling something the right way or not. It's very easy to correct these high level and older students because they are constantly trying to correct themselves and learn. Additionally, they always say thank you if you correct them, which is not common in American schools. Quite the opposite actually.
